Ecuador until today is largely untouched by mining operations.
However the resistance has been long and bloody.
The threat is more imminent than ever, as their fight is our's as well: If the locals loose, not only will Ecuador's fragile ecosystem collapse, but it will affect the climate worldwide.
With this in mind, NGOs, scientists and locals try an new approach, guided by the constitution of Ecuador, which has the "Rights of Nature" embedded, meaning: nature is not to be exploited by humans. So they gather evidence about endangered species to help fend off mining companies in court. With some success.
This is an artistic approach to visualizing 25 years of fighting against mining.
