Trees are often merely viewed as commodities: they absorb CO2, can be used to produce charcoal or be burned for warmth, they protect us from the sun, provide wood for furniture and houses, yield sap for syrup. But who sees trees as the fascinating and mysterious beings they are? Beautiful creatures, inhabitants of a shared world with a lifespan that is almost incomprehensible to us. This photos focus in a poetic way on trees as living beings – at night, when everyone is asleep and they are just breathing ... and standing in peace, offering a different sense of time in this turbulent ages.
